PRovence, France

Stay in a spectacular house in the picturesque town of Gordes.  At the house enjoy the swimming pool, grounds and numerous lovely seating areas.  In less than an hours drive we will visit Avignon, Aix in Provence, Roussillon, Gigondas and Chateauneuf du Papes. 

All meals, tours and wine are included.

Sample Itinerary (Subject to change)

Saturday

* Arrive and arrange pick up from airport in Marseille or train in Avignon.

* Wine and cheese reception at the house.

* Dinner at a nearby restaurant

Sunday

* Farmer's market at L'isle sur la Sorgue followed by lunch in town

* Participatory cooking class and preparation of dinner

Monday

* Visit Avignon, Tour the Palais des Papes, Pont St. Benezet and Avignon Cathedral, followed by casual lunch at a local restaurant.

* Dinner at the house cooked by local chef.

Tuesday

*Visit the farmer’s market in Gordes in the morning.

*Visit nearby town of Roussillon; explore, shop, and lunch at your own leisure.

*Dinner at a local restaurant.

Wednesday

*Spend the morning in Lourmarin, a charming town with centuries of history.

*Lunch at Chateau La Costes where you will tour the winery’s art installations and do a tasting of their wines.

*Dinner with a local chef at the house.

Thursday

*Visit Chateauneuf du Pape for a wine tasting Chateau La Nerthe followed by lunch in the town of Gigondas, at a Michelin starred restaurant.

*Stop at an excellent chocolate shop in L’isle Sur la Sorgue.

*Dinner of your choosing; lunch is a multi-course meal and you might choose something simple.

Friday

* Visit Aix-en-Provence with stops at Aix Cathedral and Pavillon Vendome among other sites. Wandering and lunch at your leisure.

* Dinner cooked by local chef with champagne to start, and wines from Provence.

Saturday

* Final breakfast, goodbyes and departure for home or more travel.

Umbria, Italy

Stay in a wonderful house atop a grand hill surrounded by vineyards with views for miles in all directions.  At the house enjoy the swimming pool, grounds and numerous lovely seating areas.  In less than an hours drive we will visit Perugia, Spoleto, Ovietto and Assisi.

All meals, tours and wine are included.

Saturday

* Arrive and settle in with a wine and cheese reception at the house.

* Dinner at a local restaurant with a selections of Umbrian wines

Sunday

* Visit to town of Todi with guided historic tour, followed by lunch in town.

* Dinner at the house cooked by a local chef.

Monday

* Spend the day in Perugia, including lunch in town and Chocolate making class.

* Return late afternoon, before dinner at a local restaurant.

Tuesday

* Tour of a ceramic studio in the town of Deruta, then lunch in town.

* In the late afternoon a a local chef will come to the house for a pasta making demonstration, followed by dinner of pasta and wine to accompany.

Wednesday

* Go on a countryside truffle hunt with local truffle hunter and his dogs!

* Local lunch featuring truffles.

* Multi-course dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant in Perugia.

Thursday

*Visit to the historic town of Orvieto and it’s sites.

*Tour and tasting at a nearby winery, followed my lunch.

*Pizza and salad prepared at the house by a local chef.

Friday

* Visit the town of Assisi with a guided tour.

* Lunch will be a woodfired meal at “La Stalla”

* Dinner cooked by local chef with sparkling wine to start, and reds from Umbria.

Saturday

* Final breakfast, goodbyes and departure for home or more travel.
