Nell's 2012 Chef Tribute Dinner Series

Join us as we celebrate the life and influence of Eliza Acton (1799-1859). She was an English poet and cook who has been described as the first modern cookbook writer. She was made famous by her book Modern Cookery for Private Families, which was aimed at the domestic reader rather than the professional cook or chef. In this book she introduced the now universal practice of listing the ingredients and suggested cooking times with each recipe.

Delia Smith has called her 'the best writer of recipes in the English language'.

Between each course, Ernie Pino will provide a bit of biography and stories of Eliza's life.
